SCAFFGAP

In recent times the Scaffold Industry has undergone a major transformation. It's working practises, procedures and arrangements for Health and Safety have all been under the microscope. Leading academics, governing bodies, health and safety professionals, scaffolding contractors and individual scaffold operatives have all played their part in bringing this about, striving for a safer place of work.

The impact of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 has been a very significant factor in determining this change. Innovative technology has enabled development of safe systems of work that has revolutionised the way we work.

The Scaffgap conception was born out of the requirement to address serious inherent risks on working platforms. It has taken two years for research and development to reach final production of Scaffgap.

Scaffgap Limited was founded in 2009 by Mr John Houlihan and Mr Steve Barlow. Both practicing Health and Safety professionals.

Schedule 3, of the Work at Height Regulation 2005, clearly specifies the requirements for working platforms. In this schedule, with reference to gaps, it clearly states that working platforms be so constructed that the surface of the working platform has no gap through which any material or object could fall and injure a person. Schedule 3 also states working platforms be so erected, used and maintained in such condition, as to prevent the risk of tripping.

CLOSING GAPS ON WORKING PLATFORMS

Scaffgap is a recognised scaffolding component that is proud to play a part in the quest to make scaffold platforms safe. It's ease of use and reusability has made it the preferred method used by many contractors. Simply clipping to a scaffold board, it provides a flush top surface spanning inherent gaps in working platforms.

Scaffgap is now widely used throughout the industrial, commercial and construction sectors of the industry. It has been developed for many applications, including:

A light duty version for tube and fitting scaffolds ; A heavy duty version for tube and fitting scaffolds ; A 'System' version for use with 'Cuplok' and 'Unit Transom' scaffolds ; A 'Supadek' version for use with plastic scaffold boards. Most recently, we have developed System-L ScaffGap to work with Layher System Scaffolding platforms.

All versions can be made with the traditional recycled polymer plastic, virgin UPVC offering flame retardant properties or GRP ( Glass Reinforced Plastic ) offering fire resistant properties.

Scaffgap is widely available across the U.K and can be purchased direct from Scaffgap Ltd - a registered U.K company and proud to be a long standing member of the U.K  scaffolding industry and market.
